Procedures
Persons who wish to apply for admissions
may purchase the applications and apply in person or by mail.
The applicants must provide the following documents upon submission of the
applications otherwise applications will not be considered, neither the
applicable fees will be refunded.

Examination and
Interview
Prospective students entering any
graduate programs must sit for a written examination and an interview on the
dates specified by the university. The written examination is composed of
the Ramkhamhaeng Graduate Record Examination (RGRE) and the Ramkhamhaeng
University Test (R.U. Test). The RGRE measures the applicants'career, verbal
and quantitative ability while the R.U. Test measures the English Language
proficiency.
All applicants passing the examination and interview must report to the
university, pay the necessary fees and present the necessary documents.
Time limit to
complete Degree
A graduate student is required to
spend at least 2 academic years and not more than 5 academic years to
complete a master's degree program. For graduate diploma program, a student
must spend at least 1 academic year and not more than 3 academic years.
Academic
Advisement
Upon being admitted to a graduate
program, a student will be assinged an academic advisor. The advisor will
give advices on the study program, choosing of courses , conducting
research, taking of comprehensive examination, and other matters with
academic nature. Before registering for courses each semester, the student
should consult his/her advisor.
Academic Load
The maximum course load a graduate
student is permitted to undertake for a regular semester is 12 credit hours
and 6 credit hours for a summer session. The minimum load for any term is 3
credit hours. However, regulation governing the minimum load is wavied when
the total remaining credit of the program is less than 3.
Enrollments exceeding the specified load must receive prior permission from
the dean or an authorized representative, but never to exceed l8 and 9
credit hours for regular semester and summer session, respectively.
Graduate Degree
Requirements
The master degrees require a minimum
of 36 semester hours of graduate study including a non-credit foreign
language course. All graduate programs require a thesis but some programs,
students can choose comprehensive examination instead. Some programs require
both thesis and comprehensive examination.
All graduate diploma degrees require
a successful completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours.
A comprehensive examination is
designed to measure the students' comprehensive knowledges of the subjects
they have undertaken and their ability to make application of these learned
principles. The examination is held once a semester and may be oral or a
combination of oral and written. The university will appoint a committee,
with not less than 3 members, to oversee the examination. Each student is
eligible for only 2 sittings of the exam. A passing grade needs the
approvals of not less than 3 committee members.
Master's Thesis
After a student has earned a cumulative
credit of at least 6 semester hours, a Thesis Committee will be assigned to
him. He, then, may register for thesis. The thesis proposal must receive
approval from the Committee and the Director of Graduate Studies before the
student can proceed further. Once approved, any changes in the proposal must
first be approved by the two concerning parties. When the student completes
his thesis, he must defend it in front of the thesis Defence Committee
assigned to him.
In case of failure on the first defence, a waiting period of 3o days is
required before the student can make the second, which is also the last
defence.

Graduate
Requirements for Master's Degree
In
order to graduate, candidates for the Master Degree must meet all of the
requirements :
- Complete the course work and
thesis required by the program.
- - Maintain a 3.00 GPA or over.
- - Receive an S grade for the
foreign language course.
- - Pass a comprehensive examination
or a thesis defence or both.
