In compliance with RU.'s open-admission
policy, persons wishing to enter Ramkhamhaeng University need not stand for
any entrance examinations. Eligible applicants applying for a freshmen
status must possess any of the following qualifications :
1. Holders of the high school
diplomas and the equivalents.
2. Being class 2 or above government
officials holding lower secondary
school certificates:
3. Being or used to be government
officials or state enterprise employees
with at least 4 years tenure and holding lower secondary
school
certificates.

Application
Procedures
Application forms may be purchased
directly or by mail from the Admissions and Records Office,
Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok 10240. Prospective students may apply in
person or by mail . Each applicant who will become an undergraduate student
must provide the following application materials :
1. An application form
2. Academic records, such as
transcripts and certificates
3. Other documents as specified in
the literature accompanying the application
Admissions are granted by the deans
or persons appointed by the deans.
Grading System
The university uses the G-P-F system
to evaluate academic perforcmance of the students. The letter grade is
explained as follows :

The students absent from examination
will automatically be graded "F" for that particular course.
Graduation Honors
Academic achievements of the graduating undergraduate students are
recognized by the university at commencements
and on diplomas. There are three levels of honors :
1. St Cum Laude (Gold Medal) for
those eaming grade G in 90 percent or more of the total credits
2. Magna Cum Laude (Silver Medal) for
those earning grade G in three quarters or more of the total credits,
3. Cum Laude (Bronze Medal) for those
earning grade G in less than quarters but more than half of the total
credits.
Tuition Fees
Tuition Fees are due each semester
during the enrollment period.
A student enrollment is not complete until all fees are paid. The
schedule
of fees appear as follows.

Transferred
Students
Prospective students who have already
earned a certain amount of college credits and or degree, either from RU.
or elsewhere, and wish to transfer these credits towards a baccalaureate
degree at RU. are entitled to apply for admissions. The number of credits
transferred vary from faculty to faculty. Consult concerning faculty for
more details. The applicants must belong to any of the following categories
:
1. Holders of the Associate Degrees
or the equivalents.
2. Graduates seeking the second
Bachelor Degrees.
3. Former students of R.U. who
overstayed the time limit and have been dismissed
Enrollment and
Withdrawal
Students may choose to enroll for
courses in person or by mail. Either way, they are expected to make
the enrollment and pay the fees on the dates and according to the
procedures designated by the university.
For in-person enrollment, those who
fail to enroll on the designated date may do so on the last day of the
enrollment period
and pay a late penalty fee of 30 baht.
Time
limit to complete degree
Students are expected to complete all
requirements of the bachelor degree within eight years. Otherwise, they will
be
dismissed. They may reapply and complete the study in the second
eight-year period. See Transferred Students for policies and requirements.
Students
Status
The students lose their students
status in the following cases :
1. Failure to pay the retention fee.
2. Completion of the 8-year time
limit.
4. Being dismissed from the
university as a result of a disciplinary action.
Academic
Load
No minimum credit hours are set.
However, students who choose not to enroll in any particular semester,
summer session excluded, must pay a retention fee of 150 baht per semester.
Examination
and Interview
Prospective students entering any graduate programs must sit for a
written examination and an interview on the dates
specified by the university. The written examination is composed of the
Ramkhamhaeng Graduate Record Examination (RGRE)and the Ramkhamhaeng
University Test (R.U. Test). The RGRE measures the applicants' career,
verbal and quantitative ability while the R.U. Test measures the English
Language proficiency. All applicants passing the examination
and interview must report to the university, pay the necessary fees and
present the necessary documents.
Student
Conduct
Students found violating disciplinary
rules will be reported to the Rector for further actions. Students may
appeal the punishment if they feel they are unjustly acted upon.
Students dismissed from the
university due to severe misbehaviors may seek readmission after two years.
