Library Services In an open-admission environment such as
Ramkhamhaeng University where class attendances are non-mandatory, the Central Library
plays a vital role as one of the indispensable learning resources. The library’s
main objectives are to provide materials and services to support course offerings and to
foster independent study and research. It houses approximately 495,000 books, in thai and
foreign languages, classified according to the Library of Congress classification system.
Computing Facilities
The Computer Institute is equipped with VAX
6510, VAX 4000, 200 microcomputers and other connected peripherals. It maintains an
array of software packages for performing the many computers related administrative
functions of the university, assisting staff members with research activities involving
complex computations and intricate data processing, and providing tools of
instruction for the Computer Science courses.
Health Services
A university Health and Medical Centre is
located on each campus. The university has a team of medical doctors and nurses who
are responsible for student health and medical needs. All the services are available
to staff, university personnel and their families as well as to students throughout
the academic year.
Student Guidance and Counselling
The student Counseling, Career Planning and
Placement Services Center (SCPC) was established for the purpose of providing guidance and
assistance to students seeking help educational, financial, career, family or personal
matters. The university also provides counseling staff for the students in each
faculty so that they can get advice for their academic development towards their
respective degrees. Program advisors work with students in developing their schedules
for each semester.
Other Services
Additionally, there are on-campus branches of the
Post Office, the Government Saving Bank, and a University Cooperative Store for the
convenience of the students.
Student Activities
The university provides a variety of
activities for the students to encourage them to cultivate special interests and aptitude
and also to develop leadership and initiative.
Students can participate in both university affairs
and student political affairs. They can also have an opportunity to participate in
Thai political process.
Many Ramkhamhaeng student’s clubs visit various
provinces in different parts of the country. They are involved in a number of village
projects such as building schools, digging wells, etc.
The university encourages students to participate
in many kinds of sports and to enter both domestic and international competitions. The
students who win first prize in a sporting event will be granted a scholarship from the
University Sports
Star Program.
